Liz, Kristy and Ben make a boisterous road trip through the Australian outback. The first highlight is the meteorite crater "Wolf Creek". There, in the middle of nowhere, your car will crap. Fortunately, old hunter Mick Taylor appears at night and offers his help - he drags her to his remote yard. But the friendly helper in need soon turns out to be a sadistic monster with a preference for torture. While Taylor grinds the knife, the fight for naked survival begins for the young tourists... author and director Greg McLean delivered with his blood-dripping and polarising debut film "a mixture of real tangible horror and psychoterror, created in the head" (Filmstarts.de) and thus laid the foundation for sequels in film and series form.
