Osa 1
Aurinko paistaa päivä toisensa jälkeen yli Nebraskan maissipeltojen. Sato kuivaa ja kuihtuu olemattomiin. Maanviljelijät rukoilevat sadetta turhaan. Pikkukaupunkiin saapuu eräänä päivänä poikasaarnaaja, jonka mukaan vain ihmisveri saa maan hedelmälliseksi ja voi pelastaa sadon. Kolme vuotta myöhemmin nuori pari eksyy autollaan Nebraskan erämailla ja ajaa lapsen päälle, kauhukseen he huomaavat että tämä on jo kuollut. Kurkku on viilletty auki...

Osa 2
Elämä on pikkuhiljaa palautunut normaaliksi massamurhien jälkeen pienessä Gatlinin kylässä. Naapurikaupungissa huolehditaan "syyttömistä" orvoiksi jääneistä lapsista. Iltalehden toimittaja John Garrett saapuu kaupunkiin kirjoittaakseen noista hirveistä tapahtumista.
Kunnes eräänä yönä painajaiset alkavat uudelleen... ja ne elävät maissipellossa.

Osa 3
Kolmas elokuva pahuudesta Gatlingissä, Nebraskasta on täällä. Mutta nyt kauhu kasvaa maissipellosta ja valtaa suurkaupungin. Keskellä Chicagoa! Onnellinen adoptoiva Porterin pariskunta adoptoi kaksi orpoa lasta Gatlingista; Elin ja Joshuan. Mutta pariskunta ei tiedä kaikkea lapsista. Että Eli murhasi oman isänsä. Että hän on Gatlingin riivaajan opetuslapsi. Että hän on viljellyt maissipellon Porterien talon viereen missä pahuus jälleen versoo. Uuden hypnoottisen voimansa ansiosta Eli noituu luokkakaverietaan aikeessaan muuttaa heidät tappaviksi aseikseen tuhotakseen kaikki aikuiset. Ainoa joka hänet voi pysäyttää on Joshua. Nyt molemmat veljekset kohtaavat verisessä kamppailussa hyvän ja pahan välillä - pellolla, jonka ainoa sato koostuu ihmisruumiista.
